Thomas
Faster, single-sided Braille and a noise-muffling desktop case 40
character (standard Braille) line 40 characters per second Originally
named in honor of William A. Thomas, board chairman of Enabling
Technologies, "Tommy" has made a name for itself for outstanding Braille
quality, durability and value. Perfect for a home office, school, or
agency, Thomas includes popular features as standard equipment--Dynamic
Braille Scaling and graphics in two intensities, normal and high
resolution. Dynamic Braille Scaling allows you to change from Library of
Congress Braille to California sign Braille, Jumbo Braille, standard
Braille with increased line spacing or the smaller Braille often preferred
by our Japanese customers with just one command. Mix the sizes within a
single document. Braille graphics are much in demand today for maps,
mathematics, or just for fun. With Thomas' two graphics modes, you can
make Braille graphics at normal intensity for large shapes or at high
resolution for better detail. Thomas comes ready to work with your
IBM-compatible PC's parallel port, and has a 9-pin serial port as well.
Sixteen menus allow you to customize your embosser once for every task you
need and call all the settings into action with a few keystrokes. Adjust
your Thomas to make multiple strikes per character for extra-emphasized
dots or to allow for heavier materials. Adjust for 6 or 8-dot Braille, use
a variety of paper sizes, and reprint up to 99 copies of one document
automatically with Multi-Copy. Available options for Thomas include ET
Speaks, our fast and flexible speech system, and our Single Sheet Tractor
Option. Thomas with ET Speaks Option comes up talking automatically
without even slowing you down. Even while echoing the commands you enter
on the embosser's keypad, ET Speaks can still keep working as the voice of
your Double-Talk LT-compatible screen reader and play WAV and other audio
files in DOS and Windows. Single Sheet Tractor Option lets you hand-feed
non-tractor paper, like letterhead or other special media, one sheet at a
time. Price: Thomas $3,295. Thomas with Single Sheet Tractor Option
$3,495. Thomas with ET Speaks Option $3,395. Thomas with ET Speaks and
Single Sheet Tractor Options $3,595. Shipping and Handling: $110 in the
most of the US; Alaska, Hawaii, and overseas destinations will involve
additional
shipping. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
